This man is Wilson Thompson son of William Thompson and grandson of the explorer David Thompson.

William Thompson, according to David Thompson’s inscription in his family bible, was born on November 9^th, 1819 at Williamstown, Glengarry, Ontario. Handed down through the Thompson family tree and families was the constant comment thatWilson shown here  was a very close image of his grandfather David Thompson and many who knew  David Thompson always remarked of the remarkable resemblance  of Wilson to his grandfather. Wilson was in his thirties when photo taken so may give interested Thompson devotees an excellent idea of what the great explorer might have looked like in his prime in the trade.*** The photo was submitted by Carson lloyd a direct descendant of David Thompson.
